HPrior to joining River City Company, Emily served as the Director of the Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) with the City of Indianapolis, where she oversaw the city’s economic development and incentives programs, large scale redevelopment projects, land banking, and the distribution of federal grants. In addition, Emily supervised all City planning, land use, zoning and historic preservation approvals, as well as several monumental planning initiatives.

Emily has also held several public, private and nonprofit leadership roles. Before leading DMD, she was a Project Leader at CORE Planning Strategies, a Real Estate Development Manager for Downtown Indy, and served the City of Indianapolis in several different capacities, including a Mayor’s Neighborhood Liaison and a Preservation Planner.

She currently serves on the boards of the Chattanooga Tourism Company, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, the Enterprise Center and the Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians, and she is a member of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee. Emily is also a member of the American Planning Association, Chattanooga Downtown Rotary, International Downtown Association, and the Urban Land Institute.

When not working, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Brian, and their two adorable rescued basset hounds, Doug and Dixie.
